Keep in mind that the cruise ships don't go that fast so you will have plenty of time to see all the sites and they time out the trip so you reach your major destinations at the best time of the day. We left Vancouver in the afternoon on the first day and cruised all night and the next day and it wasn't until the 2nd morning on board that we reached Juneau. For Alaskan cruises I suggest splurging on a decent size room with a balcony. There will be about 50 single rooms (possibly usable as double) reserved for the participants, divided between the Adriatico and the Galileo guesthouses, both located in the ICTP campus. All the rooms will be available from October the 27th (Sunday) to the 31st (Thursday), and it will be up to the participants to select their arrival and departure dates (within the above-mentioned period). The room prices will be: 50€/night for a single room at the Galileo Guesthouse 60€/night for a single room at the Adriatico Guesthouse The organizing committee will take care of reserving the rooms upon confirmation (and fee payment). The reservation can be made only through the workshop organizers in the registration form. Payment will be made directly at the Guesthouse.
